Open Microsoft Remote Desktop Client on Mac. Click ‘File’ then ‘Import’: Select the RDP file you just downloaded. Click ‘Open’ and ‘Edit’. Fill out the Connection name, User name, and Password. Finally, close the tab. From next time, you can connect into the Remote Desktop through Microsoft Remote Desktop Client on your Mac. On another Mac computer, open Microsoft Remote Desktop for Mac, click the Settings icon in the top menu bar, then click Import from RDP file. In the Finder window that appears, click iCloud Drive in the left-hand menu. On the Windows 10 machine you want to remote desktop into, you need to make sure the user account has a password. You also need to make sure your account is an administrator account on the system. You have to make sure the firewall on Windows 10 allows remote desktop to the machine.

You can export a remote desktop connection definition and use it on a different device. Remote desktops are saved in separate .RDP files.
- In the Connection Center, right-click(command + click) the remote desktop connection you wish to export.
- Click Export.
- Browse to the location where you want to save the remote desktop .RDP file.
- Click OK.
